The Orange Menace Released!
December 23, 2007

The film "The Orange Menace" directed by Salil Sundresh of Sal Sun Productions has been released on our website. The film won "best movie ever" award in Salil's film composition and analysis class this semester and is headed for more festivals in the future. We have also added a YouTube option for many videos (though not all) for those of you that cannot install Quicktime, the YouTube option gives you a lower quality option. Please visit our videos page to view the film and trailer.
Update: The Orange Menace recently took first place at the 2008 Annual NNHS Film Festival on January 25th, 2008. Look for it in the Naperville Indepedent Film Festival this Fall!

RAIN OUT!
June 3, 2007

Today, shooting was supposed to take place for the final scene in SalSun Production's short "Modern Ethics." Unforunately, it began to rain towards the beginning of shooting and therefore we were forced to pack up and leave. Shortly afterwards, things cleared up, however by then it was too late to begin again.

Portable Dolly Shots
February 14th, 2007

We have recently finished constructing a portable dolly for flexible tracking shots on location. The dolly is collapsable and is able to fit in a fairly small bag. We based the idea off of what we saw in the brilliant, but somewhat expensive product known as Micro Dolly. Additionally, some somewhat vague directions can be found here. If you are interested in constructing your own portable dolly and have questions, please feel free to contact us. A video of the dolly and some quick tests I ran can be found below.

November 8th, 2006

The wait is over. The Sal Sun Productions website is finally up...somewhat. Additional pages are still being worked on, but all of the technical difficulties in designing the layout have more or less been worked out -- this is ultimately what the site will look like.
